We began our drive to Colorado visiting the famous Muscle Shoals Sound Studio in Alabama. The studio opened in 1969 and recorded artists such as the Rolling Stones, Bob Seger, Elton John , Willie Nelson , Bob Dylan , Tom Petty and many more. We drove on to Memphis and visited Graceland where Elvis Pressley got his start. Now in Colorado with wife Hope on one of our breath-taking hikes. We had our daughter Liz and grandson Declan come visit us in Colorado. Declan loved the Colorado mountains and beautiful waterfalls. “Fun times”.

Summer is my favorite time of the year as I get to spend it with my family creating memories on vacation. This year we traveled out west and got to see some amazing places and visit with family as well.  Our first stop was in St. Louis where we traveled to the top of the Arch. Then onward to Colorado where we visited Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge Canyon, Dinosaur Ridge, Red Rocks, and the cliff dwellings in the Mesa Verde National Park. Next stop Arizona! We took a train ride from Williams to the Grand Canyon. The views were just breathtaking, and the pictures do not even do it justice. Our adventures were amazing and ones that the kids will remember for years to come.

We wrapped up 3rd grade with Ava this year and she played in a couple of all-star tournaments before heading to NJ for the summer to spend time with my family. I traveled to Boston and attended Commonwealth’s Advanced Topics Symposium and I brought back some fresh, new ideas back to the team that were excited to implement at the office. Our family also grew this year! My nephew Colton was born on July 4th! So many exciting things going on and to be thankful for! We are looking forward the start of 4th grade and FOOTBALL season! Go Gators!!

Summer has been a lot of fun so far, thankfully we live in Florida so it’s not even close to over yet! We are so proud to share that in June my husband Phillip was promoted to Senior Chief in the US Navy. Both of our families were able to be there to help Parker and I pin on his new anchors and celebrate this huge accomplishment.

In July we took our annual family trip to Destin where we spent every day relaxing on the beach. Not a single thing was accomplished and that was the entire purpose of the trip!

Now it’s August already which means our son Parker is headed back to school after a summer full of awesome camp adventures. He started 1st grade this week and is loving it so far. He is most looking forward to helping to care for their class pet, Spike – a bearded dragon!
